Our Commitment to Safety is the basis of our work culture. At GMP, we believe that every accident and near miss is preventable. If it's not safe, don't do it. With the backing of our clients and by selecting similarly focused team members, we embed that philosophy into every project. We believe that proactively managing safety is essential to acceptable safety performance. Through application of this safety mindset by all team members, we believe zero accidents and zero near misses is achievable at the home office and on every project.
Innovative thinking is what keeps our business constantly progressing. With technology changing daily, there is always a way of doing something more effective and efficiently. This mindset is implemented in our thinking as well as our day-to-day activities. Our people are encouraged to challenge the status quo, think in an entrepreneurial manner, and are recognized for their new ideas. This process of endlessly reviewing and improving our Industry Leading Practices is the basis of our Continuous Improvement Process. And to add structure to the process, the GMP Continuous Improvement Model reflects the key principles in the process, which ensure we maintain the latest, proprietary database of Industrial Leading Practices for our Clients.
The success of our projects depend on a thorough understanding our clients’ needs. As owners on some of our projects, we understand the importance of approaching our work from our clients’ perspective. Early alignment with an owner is the best way to ensure a successful project. We have proven work practices that facilitate obtaining this alignment. Every team member must be aligned with this philosophy to ensure the most successful projects and relationships.
Through proactive leadership, innovation, and continuous improvement, we create value for our clients. This value presents itself in many ways such as cost and schedule improvements, improved safety results, improved quality points, improved maintainability and reduced operational costs to name a few. We firmly believe that value created for our clients is value created for our company. Collaterally, positive projects bring about positive changes to communities creating a win-win for all involved. Proven project delivery methods and attention to detail consistently ensures the best value for the client.
People are the foundation of our company. Our relationships are based on trust, honesty, respect and compassion. We place high value on excellent performance and an entrepreneurial mindset. We feel that opportunities for personal development are of vital importance for attracting and retaining excellent people. We are family people and encourage a healthy work-life balance. We are good citizens of the community and feel that giving back at home and at our project sites is important. We feel that our approach to our People value promotes an open, stimulating and fun work environment.
Teamwork & Collaboration
Teamwork and collaboration are essential to excellent project delivery. Proactively creating an environment that encourages the collective knowledge, resources and skills of each team member to flourish is very important. Having employees, clients, and other team members that embrace this same focus is important to GMP.
We want to be thinking “Big Picture” when it comes to our business. Sustainability for us, means not only recycling waste or using energy efficient fixtures in construction, but also things like: “How sustainable is our business plan?”, “How will changes we make affect our people in the long term?”, or “How do we create meaningful, long lasting relationships with our clients?”, etc. So Sustainability extends to all aspects of our business practices. Consistently, GMP operates in a socially, economically, and environmentally responsible way. We embrace the challenges of executing projects that reduce the overall impact to human health and natural environment. The overall goal is to minimize the global footprint while fulfilling the desirable results that will last an extended period of time. In keeping with our core values, we recently attained LEED certification for our office in Greer, South Carolina.
Integrity & Humility
We believe our personal and corporate character is as important as our ability to manage projects. Integrity is the backbone of our core values. Doing the right thing for the right reasons in every situation ensures that each of the other core values are attainable. In addition, approaching our work with humility means that we always leave the door of continuous improvement open. Each member of GMP is selected with this in mind.
